Rome Masters: Britain's Dan Evans suffers early exit

British No 1 Dan Evans has been booted out of the Rome masters after falling in the first round to American Taylor Fritz.

Evans who played well in clay court tournament and notably knocked out Novak Djokovic to Monte Carlo Masters in April fell in Rome.

The 30 year old got outplayed this time around by the American Fritz who dispatched in straight sets 6-3 6-2 to move to the next round.

His loss means he will be unable to set up rematch with World No 1 Djokovic. He however still boast of career high of 26 so far this year.
