British No 2 Cameron Norrie time at the Italian Open has come to an end after he lost to Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the 2nd round.
The 25 year who hoped to have faced Djokovic at some point missed the opportunity has he was defeated 6-2 6-3 by world No 48.
Norrie who has been in a decent form this year after winning 19 out of 29 matches he has played dropped the match at Rome after conceding a lot of errors.
Davidovich Fokina win now sees him take on Serbian and World No 1 Novak Djokovic in the 3rd round of the competition.
