Orange will cut the 2G, tens of thousands of customers impacted

Bad news if you bought the new Nokia 3310 first generation (2017) which is only compatible with the 2G network since the Orange operator deploys since November 15, 2017 an update on its antennas that disables the 2G in favor of the 3G.

Tens of thousands of customers will be impacted, those with old mobile phones or recent ones that do not support 3G. Fortunately for them, Orange offers its customers a discount of 30 € valid in Orange store to buy a new compatible phone.

Note that the new Nokia 3310 first generation (2017) is no longer available in Orange, which now markets the Nokia 3310 3G at the same price.

If you are at another operator, for now, the problem does not arise ... But the abandonment of the 2G should not delay because we must leave room for future generations like 5G. The battle of the frequencies available will have been right of the 2G.
