Turkish bastion

Turkish bastion
Part 1
One of the main pillars of the city of Kamyanets-Podilsky is the Turkish bastion, which is part of the system of north-western fortifications of the city.
The Turkish bastion is a large arch structure. It has four runs.
The fortification was quite convenient for shelling the road leading to the city.
The city was captured, changed, reconstructed.
For example, in 1672 the city was captured by the Turks, who improved the fortification of the bastion and used stone from the ruined Dominican monastery. In honor of this, the people of Kamyanets ironically called him "girl's pots."
In 1753, the German fortification engineer Christian Dalke, who was the commander of the fortress, reconstructed the fortifications. Hence another name for them - Fort Dalke.
