Roadtrip from Brunei to Kota Kinabalu

Hello Steemrockers 🤘

It's me again and this time we planned a roadtrip (23/03/2018) to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah all the way from Brunei. I took a ferry boat to Brunei at 0900hrs which took me about 1hour and10minutes to reach Brunei from Victoria Island (Labuan). Well me and Bubsy had been planning about this roadtrip from our last trip when we were in Malacca but never expected it came true in a short period time, thanks to Bubsy for making this trip to happen.

Our journey started from Muara to Kuala Lurah which took us about 45mins to get to the Immigration to cross border from Brunei to Limbang, Sarawak. From there we drove through Limbang to get to Temburong which is another district in Brunei it means we need to stamp our passport again. About 2hrs drive we reached a placed called Lawas, Sarawak we stopped by for abit to have a look at their town unfortunate I did not manage to snap any photos there. The last time I went to Limbang was in 2002 or 2003, so many changes in 15years.

We continued our journey from Lawas to Merapok (Sindumin) border of Sabah which require us to stamp our passport for the last checkpoint which I myself lost count on how many stops we did in total. From there another 176km to reach Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The road to Sabah was very interesting, we passed by a few province i.e Membakut, Beaufort, Sipitang, Kimanis, Papar an etc.

And at 7.25pm we finally reached Kota Kinabalu and it took us about 6hours drive plus minus the time we had a few stops for toilet breaks during our journey. We booked a unique homestay or so called backpackers hostel named Seaview Capsule Hotel via online which cost us RM102 nett for double bed whereas RM55 for the single bed. We were given clean & fresh towel, to my surprise there is a television inside that small capsule and this hotel is located in front of the Waterfront (city centre). Overall I like this place, its very cute and clean. And as for our dinner, we went to the Pasar Filipin for seafood paradise where the price is cheaper than dining in a restaurant, especially for lobster.
