Gucci Osteria in Firenze, Italy (Tasteem Review)

I’m glad I reserved this review for a special occasion and this “Be my Valentines” contest it’s the perfect opportunity to present it. Last year we we’re traveling on Italy and we spent a couple of days in Firenze, which by the way is a beautiful place to visit.

We wanted to go to Osteria Francescana in Modena to taste the creations of Massimo Bottura but it is insanely expensive and we deviated a lot from our planned path.

That’s when we heard of this place: Osteria Gucci. Apparently Gucci offer Massimo a shit load of money to put a restaurant in Firenze (Florence) inside their iconic Gucci Garden. A store/museum located in one of the corners of Piazza della Signoria, one of the hot spots of the city.

So we made a reservation with I think 2 months in advance and they accepted it. For this you need to call the restaurant, there’s not other way to reserve in this place and I recommend to do it if you plan to go, because is a tiny place in a very touristic path. Maybe with one or two weeks in advance is ok.

The place is really cool, all the staff is obviously wearing all Gucci stuff. You immediately feel underdressed but when you see the other people dinning you feel better.

The menu is short and its all tiny plates. It’s a little expensive (20-35 euro a plate) but not as expensive as going to the Osteria Francescana.

We were hungry so we ordered 4 plates.

This is “End of summer salad”. A combination of quinoa, avocado, carrots, beet-root and maybe some stuff I can’t remember. All plates here were beautiful as you can see.

The next one is “Tentacle Spectacle”. It contains some octopus, potatoes and black garlic.

For the main course we ordered the “Emilia Burger”. They give it to you in a pink box, like the one where you get a big-mac, but prettier. It had cotechino, parmaginano reggiano, a green sauce and mayonnaise. It was simple but really good.

For our surprise there was Tortellini with Parmigiano Reggiano cream, one of the signature dishes from Massimo, so we ordered it. It cost 30 euro to order this but it's a bargain considering you are tasting a signature dish from one of the most important chefs in the world.

This was the dessert, but i can't remember what was it, becuase the names does't say much about the plate.

I definitely recommend this place for a really romantic dinner and it’s also located in a really Romaic and magic city.
Saludos!
