Hace unos días fuimos de paseo a Zipaquirá, una ciudad central aquí en Colombia, lo que más me gustó del viaje fue que pudimos ir en tren. Hay una empresa en Bogotá que se llama Turistren que tiene paseos para esa ciudad y vamos recorriendo todo el camino despacio disfrutando completamente de los distintos paisajes y la urbanidad de toda la ciudad.

A few days ago we went for a walk to Zipaquirá, a central city here in Colombia, what I liked the most about the trip was that we were able to go by train. There is a company in Bogotá called Turistren that has tours for that city and we travel all the way slowly, fully enjoying the different landscapes and urbanity of the entire city.
Zipaquirá es muy conocida mundialmente por su famosa Catedral de Sal subterránea, muchos la catalogan como la 8va maravilla del mundo, lamentablemente no les tengo fotos de este lugar porque los costos de entrada eran muy alto para nuestro presupuesto. Es un pueblo minero, con grandes cuevas de sal, de hecho existen muchos adornos tallados en sal, esculturas y recuerdos que puedes adquirir aquí.
Zipaquirá is well known worldwide for its famous underground Salt Cathedral, many classify it as the 8th wonder of the world, unfortunately I do not have photos of this place because the entrance costs were too high for our budget. It is a mining town, with large salt caves, in fact there are many ornaments carved in salt, sculptures and souvenirs that you can buy here.
Es un pueblo colonial sumamente bello, la mayoría de su arquitectura es antigua y e restaurada cada cierto tiempo para respetar las formas y materiales con los cuales fueron elaboradas.
It is an extremely beautiful colonial town, most of its architecture is old and restored from time to time to respect the forms and materials with which they were made.
En este pueblo estudió el gran escritor latinoamericano Gabriel Garcia Marques y además es la cuna de muchos ciclistas famosos de Colombia.
Yo puedo decir que es un lugar muy hermoso para conocer, su gente es muy amable y todos saben de la historia de sus antepasados, existen muchas opciones para comer, desde cadenas grandes de comida hasta restaurantes locales que venden comida tradicional, nosotros como estamos conociendo, decidimos probar un sancocho y un ajiaco, comida típica de Colombia.
The great Latin American writer Gabriel Garcia Marques studied in this town and it is also the birthplace of many famous Colombian cyclists.
I can say that it is a very beautiful place to get to know, its people are very friendly and everyone knows the history of their ancestors, there are many options to eat, from large food chains to local restaurants that sell traditional food, we know how we are. We decided to try a sancocho and an ajiaco, typical Colombian food.
