Hoy les quiero comentar acerca de una anécdota que viví hace ya algunos años con el Trío Zoé, del cual les he hablado en oportunidades anteriores. Esta agrupación debutó en el año 2008 (aunque no lo crean no recuerdo la fecha exacta jejeje) y para ese concierto compuse un par de obras que fueron estrenadas ese día, una de ellas se titula “Pajarillo Para Tres”.
Como su nombre lo indica, se trata de un pajarillo, una de las variantes más conocidas del joropo venezolano, muy apreciada por los músicos debido a las múltiples posibilidades de improvisación que tiene, gracias a la cual los intérpretes pueden demostrar su potencial y virtuosismo con sus respectivos instrumentos.English

Today I want to tell you about an anecdote that I lived some years ago with the Trío Zoé, which I have told you about in previous opportunities. This group debuted in 2008 (believe it or not I do not remember the exact date hehehe) and for that concert I composed a couple of works that were premiered that day, one of them is titled "Pajarillo Para Tres". As its name indicates, it is a pajarillo, one of the best-known variants of Venezuelan joropo, highly appreciated by musicians due to the multiple possibilities of improvisation that it has, thanks to which the interpreters can demonstrate their potential and virtuosity with their respective instruments.
Esta obra fue dedicada al gran maestro venezolano Aldemaro Romero, pianista y compositor que hizo importantes aportes a la música académica y popular, fusionándolas con el jazz y quien en su amplio repertorio le dedicó un gran apartado al pajarillo como género.
En fin, me desvié y no conté la anécdota. Ese día, en la Casa de Italia de Maracay, durante el debut del Trío Zoe y el estreno de “Pajarillo Para Tres”, estaba haciendo mucho calor en la sala y la dificultad de la obra, más los nervios propios de una primera vez (dos en realidad), comencé a sudar más de lo acostumbrado y mis anteojos comenzaron a resbalar por mi nariz.
This work was dedicated to the great Venezuelan master Aldemaro Romero, pianist and composer who made important contributions to academic and popular music, fusing them with jazz and who in his extensive repertoire dedicated a large section to pajarillo as a genre.
Anyway, I got sidetracked and did not tell the anecdote. That day, at the Casa de Italia de Maracay, during the debut of the Trío Zoe and the premiere of "Pajarillo Para Tres", it was getting very hot in the room and the difficulty of the work, plus the nerves of a first time (two actually), I began to sweat more than usual and my glasses began to slip down my nose.
El nervio se incrementó ya que no solo debía estar pendiente de que los dedos hicieran justo lo que la difícil partitura exigía, sino que además, estaba altamente preocupado por el hecho de que los lentes no cayeran sobre el oboe y me hicieran perder la coordinación motriz.
Yo estaba a punto de un colapso nervioso cuando ocurrió lo inevitable, los lentes cayeron. A estas alturas aún no sé cómo hice para, en una milésima de segundo, evitar que los lentes cayeran sobre el oboe, atraparlos, ubicarlos de forma segura en el piso (o una silla, no recuerdo) detrás de mí y seguir tocando como si nada. Creo que fue un verdadero milagro y pude llegar con vida hasta el final de la obra.
The nervousness increased as not only did I have to be vigilant that my fingers did just what the difficult score demanded, but I was also highly concerned that the glasses would not fall on the oboe and cause me to lose motor coordination.
I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown when the inevitable happened, the glasses fell. At this point I still don't know how I managed, in a millisecond, to keep the glasses from falling on the oboe, catch them, place them safely on the floor (or a chair, I don't remember) behind me and continue playing as if nothing had happened. I think it was a real miracle and I was able to make it through to the end of the piece alive.
Aquí les dejo el video de esa presentación para que puedan apreciar el momento en que los lentes fueron a parar al piso sin un rasguño jejejeje y a pesar de que la calidad el video no es óptima, si se logra apreciar bastante bien el incidente. Espero lo disfruten.
