Le tocó el turno a Matihas. Él es mi segundo nieto, tiene siete años y demanda sus derechos como corresponde. Morí de risas cuando me dijo que lo tenía abandonado. Quería salir y su argumento perfecto fue hacer sentir su abandono.

It was Matihas' turn. He is my second grandson, he is seven years old and demands his rights as correspondence. I died laughing when he told me that I had abandoned him. He wanted to go out and his perfect argument was to make his abandonment felt.

Hoy día los niños son más habilidosos, poseen gran capacidad para comunicarse, creo que llevan buen ritmo para expresar sus emociones, son libres, espontáneos, nada los detiene al momento de querer decir o demandar sus propias necesidades.

Nowadays children are more skillful, they have a great capacity to communicate, I think they have a good rhythm to express their emotions, they are free, spontaneous, nothing stops them when they want to say or demand their own needs.

Llevé al niño al parque ubicado en el Calvario, justo en el centro de Caracas, quedó sorprendido por lo grande que es esta zona de recreación.

I took the boy to the park located in El Calvario, right in the center of Caracas, and he was amazed at how big this recreation area is.

¡Yo nunca había venido a este parque 😃! Matihas, quedó sorprendido. Mostró cara de felicidad, afirmó que desde el parque se apreciaban varias zonas de Caracas como por ejemplo la cota 905 y la cota 1000 ja,ja,ja,ja... Cómo si él conociera la ciudad entera.

I had never come to this park before 😃! Matihas was surprised. He showed a happy face, he said that from the park you could see several areas of Caracas such as the 905 and 1000 elevation ha,ha,ha,ha,ha.... As if he knew the whole city.

A esto me refiero cuando hablo de espontaneidad y libertad para expresarse. Matihas, con tan solo siete años, conoce más de lo que nosotros podemos pensar. El niño hizo varias acotaciones sobre el espacio. Se respira aire fresco... Que rica la brisa fría... Hermosa vista desde aquí arriba... Por qué hay zonas tan descuidadas... La gente no cuida el ambiente... Frases tímidas como las anteriores nos dejaron sin palabras.

This is what I mean when I talk about spontaneity and freedom of expression. Matihas, at only seven years old, knows more than we might think. The child made several remarks about the space. You can breathe fresh air ... How nice the cold breeze ... Beautiful view from up here ... Why are some areas so neglected ... People do not take care of the environment ... Shy phrases like the above left us speechless .

Ante la preocupación de los padres por el tema del inicio de las clases y también el tema de saber cómo atender a los niños, aquí tenemos una manera de educarlos. Ponerlos en contexto e interactuar con ellos sobre lo observado es una muy buena estrategia de aprendizaje. No necesariamente se adquieren los conocimientos sentados en un pupitre encerrados entre cuatro paredes. La educación puede trascender las aulas para valerse de nuevas herramientas. Cada papá, mamá, abuelos, tíos... Puede ayudar a educar a los niños con actividades sencillas.

Given the concern of parents about the beginning of the school year and also the issue of knowing how to take care of children, here is a way to educate them. Putting them in context and interacting with them about what has been observed is a very good learning strategy. Knowledge is not necessarily acquired sitting at a desk within four walls. Education can transcend the classroom and use new tools. Every father, mother, grandparents, aunts and uncles? Can help educate children with simple activities.

Mathias preguntaba por las flores, las plantas, los insectos, aves, pequeños animalitos que veía bajo los pozos de agua... Media su capacidad de resistencia, saltaba, corría, tomaba riegos... Reflexionaba, pedía que le leyeramos letreros para interpretarlos... Manifestó su desde de hacer cosas desde hace tiempo... En fin, se dió un aprendizaje multidisciplinario.

Mathias asked about the flowers, plants, insects, birds, small animals he saw under the water wells... He would jump, run, and take irrigations.... He reflected, asked us to read signs for him to interpret them... He expressed his desire to do things for a long time... In short, it was a multidisciplinary learning process.

¿Qué es lo verdaderamente importante? Buscar tiempo para compartir con los niños. Brindarles siempre oportunidad de recrearase. Estamos en momentos duros y críticos pero se pueden hallar maneras de dedicarle tiempo a los niños. La felicidad, no tiene precio.

What is really important? Find time to share with the children. Always give them opportunities for recreation. We are in hard and critical times, but you can find ways to spend time with your children. Happiness is priceless.
