"Broken tree" from 30 thousand used chopsticks

Broken tree of 30 thousand chopsticks.

Disposable chopsticks have become a Serious problem for China. About 100 trees a day must be felled to produce enough of them. This is the problem and prompted the Chinese "green" developing "Broken tree" - a sculpture that symbolizes the dying of forests.

Wooden chopsticks as a global problem.

To create this incredible sculpture has been collected several thousand used only once and discarded sticks, which are secured to the skeleton of a felled tree. Before the sticks were thrown, they touched food, dipped in sauces, so before use sticks to create works of art, they were carefully washed, eliminating food debris and odors.

The initiative group of the Fund for the protection of the environment not only attracts attention to the problem, they are looking for ways out of the situation. Near the sculpture volunteers handed out reusable chopsticks, explain what is the use of disposable devices. The aim of the project is to raise awareness about the problem of cutting down forests and increase the use of reusable chopsticks.

Compact reusable chopsticks.

Chinese activists estimate that currently available forest Fund is enough for the production of rods for the next twenty years, and then China has no forests at all.
