Here in Vegas, We Don’t Have Friends, We have “JUICE”. . . .

Welcome To Las Vegas?

In Las Vegas, your friends are called your JUICE. It’s a MOB term and used in the casinos, since “WHO YOU KNOW” means Everything.  This probably won’t change since the economy is based on gaming revenue and the MOB STARTED THIS TOWN. The very first socialites in this town were FORMER PROSTITUTES who got sick of the game and married into the political infrastructure.

If you live here, you can't gamble here and survive . . .

Corruption is the life blood of Las Vegas mainly because of the “inbred nepotism” practiced by those of second third and fourth generation Las Vegas. Everything is for sale. Everyone is a “prostitute”. Why is it this way? Well it started out as a rough hard scrabble town all the way up through the completion of Hoover Dam.  Then the Rat-Pack showed up and because of the newness of television featuring the Rat-Pack and their various movies, and the Hoover Dam in all of its magnitude, Las Vegas became a popular tourist destination. So trust me, there never was a political infrastructure that wasn’t tainted.

You Don’t Want To Know Your Neighbors

There was a time in Las Vegas when EVERYONE knew EVERYONE. And everyone SUPPORTED everyone. There was no such thing as a homeless person because Las Vegas took care of its own. If someone got sick and went into the hospital, everyone, the whole community would pitch in to pay the bill. There weren’t very many people who could survive in Vegas with the constant lure of gaming hanging over their heads. So the ones that did survive practiced being practical. And because all of the money that came through Vegas economy by way of the common worker was of the nature of TIPS and gratuities, EVERYONE GAVE because no one wanted to be called a STIFF.

It was a utopia. Las Vegas achieved it. The perfect environment where everyone that lived here felt the  freedom. Then came Tony Spilotro and the Hole in the Wall Gang. He didn’t last long but he served as a scapegoat for any and everybody’s “missing” funds. (People would knock holes in their walls with sledgehammers to make a claim of robbery.) The next thing you know, regular people are being subpoenaed and turning in their neighbors for giving them up. The Feds and the IRS gained a HUGE presence in the city and no one trusted anyone anymore. The remnants are still around today.

        Didn't last very long . . .

Naturally, people became “cliquish” and those cliques were usually centered around a particular hotel and the particular bosses of those casinos. You could only get a job in one if you KNEW someone, so the best thing to do was make FRIENDS with someone who could effectuate your cause. It didn’t make sense to have a friend that couldn’t help you, so conventional friendship as we know it today was out.

Las Vegans have Traditions

                   Boulder Dam

1. Friends are called JUICE

2. You don’t want to know your neighbors

3. Never ever answer your door to a stranger

4. Know the Laws of the State of Nevada – Trust me, they are NOT the same as where you come from

5. Tourists stand in lines, Locals get “comped” and use” VIP Service” only so they never wait ANYWHERE

6. California Pedestrians get killed because they don’t know no.4 (and they get killed a lot . . . .)

And Remember: The THREE TOP INDUSTRIES  in Las Vegas are 1.) Gaming  2.) Alcohol 3.) Drugs 4.)Underground prostitution -

  So you're my new neighbor?

It will be interesting, trust me . . . . .
