A Regal Arrival

Many of you will recall that about a month ago @britcoin (aka Regal Stacker) had organised a very cool contest here on Steemit.

He eventually selected two winners, with the person in First Place having a choice between a PF70 2017 200th Anniversary Sovereign and the 2018 65th Coronation Anniversary Proof Sovereign. The runner-up would get whichever coin the winner did not choose.

Having never won anything significant before, I was ecstatic to see my name drawn in Second Place. And knowing that the winner had chosen the 2017 Sovereign, I couldn’t wait to receive my very own 2018 Sovereign. Being such a significant and unique anniversary for a reigning monarch, this promised to be a very special coin indeed.

I felt like a child again, waiting for the summer holidays to begin. And right in the middle of last week, there came a package with compliments from good ol’ Regal.

I’ve never known anyone to give away so many expensive things just out of a passion for sharing their love of numismatics.

If you aren’t following @britcoin, you really ought to. Besides giveaways, he shares a lot of his amazing collection, much of which is truly breathtaking.

As I look at my little coin, I still can’t believe I actually won it. All on the whim of following someone named Regal Stacker so many months ago. Who would’ve known it would lead to this.

The man truly is a legend!

Thanks Regal.
