I have not shown you my South Korea Zi:Sin silver medallions yet. This is a 12-medallion series. 2017 was the first year the series was introduced, and there have been four designs released to-date.
2017, 2018, and 2019 ZI:SIN Twelve Guardians
Sure, you know all about the Chinese Shengxiào calendar and the twelve-year celestial-cycle that influences those born during each specific year of the cycle. But, did you have any idea that there is a whole other side to this story? Although each animal representing a year in the Shengxiào exerts a power that can influence for good or ill. That is only the side into which we humans have any insight. You are very likely to be completely taken off-guard to find out that there is an entire realm surrounding this cycle from which we have been shielded.TWELVE GUARDIANS ‑ ZI-SIN
What is this story? Zi:Sin! The battle! This battle is real, and it is relentless. Twelve Guardians have been established to serve as god’s commanders to protect mankind. Each stand to defend from demonic attacks and ambushes that come from the twelve directions represented on lunar calendar-wheel. The individual commanders are empowered to stand against the specific evil forces that come from the direction they defend. To the Twelve Guardians, the earth is a battlefield and there is no rest.
2017 Silver Zi:Sin ‑ GALLUS, 1 oz .999 fs
MESSENGER OF LIGHT Gallus defends the Light's realm. Fully armored, he stands guard and alert at the gate against darkest of dark demonic assaults of the dark realm.
2018 Silver Zi:Sin - Canis, 1 oz .999 fs
Defender of the Year of the Dog. Canis wears battle gear derived from the power of the dog. Commander Canis is revealed in human form, wearing a mythical dog creature helmet, and wields a weapon designed to match and defeat the evil forces that seek to enter through the direction he defends. His primary weapon is the massive arm-guard and claw on his right arm.
These two medallions designs are so cool, I will continue to get one specimen from each year release. Although I am not really a coin collector, this is a good opportunity to start a collection of South Korean silver. I shall show you the 2019 Scrofa on my next article.
