#HelpMarawi-Concert for a Cause

Blogging on Steemit and recently being part of SteemPH  has helped for new ideas and opportunities to reach out to those in need. One such opportunity was to contribute to rebuilding Marawi by communicating SteemPH's vision and aligning with Red Cross leaders on how SteemPH plans to fulfill that vision.

The Philippine Red Cross had a Fundraiser concert on August 10 that was held to #HelpMarawi soldiers and evacuees. We had the privilege to join the concert and have the chance to have VIP pass with the help of Ms. Lulubelle Nora and @tjpezlo who sadly couldn't be in attendance.

There were performances from bands that  include Freestyle, South Border, and 6CycleMind. Freestyle sang their iconic Before I Let You go and South Border's Kahit Kailan. I heard Teeth's Princesa being performed by 6CycleMind but we went off for dinner since most of us had not eaten yet.
We hadn't watched a concert in ages! The last time was when Gin Blossoms, Sugar Ray and Smash Mouth back in 2013 so in a way it was couple's night for us. We loved chatting with Ryan, Red Cross Youth leader and Lulubelle, Red Cross Technical Officer about what blogging on Steemit is like. We also had a chat with Red Cross Director, Oscar Palabyab about our first donation.

The Mall of Asia Arena had a posh restaurant at the Third Level called Premiere that had dishes ranging from Php300-600. We couldn't exit the MOA Arena because the concert did not allow re-entry. It ended up as a great choice because we were able to view the VIP concert rooms at the top level that has its own mini bar and stylish restrooms.

A visitor flew in from the dark arena - a two-fanged bat! The restaurant was located behind the stage and that bat just flew right in. Jenny was too kind and asked the restaurant staff to let the bat go. I was too scared to even look. Poor bat went back flying into the dark arena while the concert was blaring below the darkness.

It was hard to have a full flowing conversation but I just learned so much from these role models on Steemit who you can vote for as witnesses @cloh76.witness and @steemgigs.

Great food.

Great accomplishment chatting with Red Cross leaders.

Great conversations about steemit.

Excellent way to spend an evening.

We went back to the concert after that was still rocking at 11pm!

Writing for steemit has its rewards, the best one being able to connect and converse with people that open your mind up to many possibilities.

Steemit as a blogging community inspires me to be a better blogger, and even a better person by helping people like me and the members of @SteemPH give back to those who need it most like the people of Marawi.

Any SBD earned from this post will be forwarded to @steemph for additional donations for Marawi
