Canada holds back: To review equipment transaction with PHL because of Human Rights issue

Just recently, Philippines is trying to look for helicopters to use against rebels. Our country is now far different from the previous admins because we are on a phase where we go against weak military system as the new administration tries to protect Filipinos against rebellious groups such as Abu Sayyaf, NPA and ISIS.

A news yesterday seems to be contrary to what was first announced.

What now Canada?

Canada did the same thing when they sold helicopters in the Middle East. Similar to what was used against rebels and ISIS. In fact, they were the second biggest arms exporter declared last 2016.

What’s the difference now? Middle East used those to combat ISIS and rebel groups. How come now it becomes a human rights issue? I do hope Canada reconsiders. What are your thoughts about this?
