Diversity in the Steemit Community

It's been almost three weeks since I've been engaged in Steemit now. In these three weeks I didn't think I would be connecting to so many different people from all over the world.

One of my passions is travel. Travel allows you to experience the outside world in which you live in. You get to experience different culture, foods, and way of living. However, travel can be expensive and time consuming. If you don't have either of those two, the only other option is to live vicariously through others.

This is where Steemit excels and does such an outstanding job in my opinion. The Steemit community is so diverse that you can chat with people from any destination in the world. Unlike Facebook where most of your feed is from hometown friends or Reddit where (I believe) most of the users are from the states; Steemit has users literally spread across the world in countries you didn't even know existed!

During these three weeks I have been pretty actively engaged on not only Steemit but also Steem Chat and the various discord channels used for Steem. I've talked to people from the Philippines, India, Vietnam, Germany, London, Australia, Brazil, Thailand, Macedonia (which I even had to look up), and SO MANY different more areas that I couldn't list them all. It's always exciting to connect with someone from a different part of the world and pick their brain for things to do or experiences that they have had. Even those who I've chatted with who are from the states have great experiences to share! I've met users from the east coast, west coast, and generally every coast and every state. The experiences and lifestyle are so different that it makes each area of the world so unique and different. Definitely also gives you a whole new perspective on what you think of the outside world.

Whether it's reading about their posts describing a different area of the world or just engaging with them in a conversation; the diversity of Steemit allows for such an eye opening experience to various cultures available in the world.

Another part of Steemit diversity I have seen are the amount of meet ups that users create! I've seen all kinds of Steemit users travel to different parts of the world posting for a meet up. Not only do they get a response from another Steemit user living there, they actually take the time to meet up! HOW COOL IS THAT?! Making connections through the Steemit platform and actually hanging out with them in their world is next level to me. It just goes to show that the diversity on Steemit is such a beautiful thing and that we all want to experience one another's lifestyle.

Anyways, I just wanted to point this out for those who haven't really realized how amazing the diversity on Steemit is. It truly is something beautiful when you see the entire world coming together onto one platform helping one another or just making great conversation. Different timezones and all, we all seem to find the opportunity to talk to someone from across the world. It's what makes Steemit beautiful, hopeful, and amazing.

Where are you from? Let me know in the comments :)
