OPEN WALLET. Why "they" do that?

I'm newbie on the STEEMIT and in the world of cryptocurrencies, but I thought that privacy is the advantage of blockchain technology. Even on the basis of the rules of real life, you should never show how much money you have. when you will not be robbed?-when thief will think that you have nothing to steal.

So it's strange for me that you can view wallets of all users, and see what amount they have. This provokes hackers and greatly simplifies them work on choosing victims. You can easily make the script for filtering the values of steem power and SBD. I can assume only a few options, why the developers decided to make open wallets.

  • Marketing | Psychology. Any user on the example of the other participants can see that STEEMIT gives the real opportunity to earn good money. The user can also see the movements of currency and understand what to do with it, following the actions of big players, and to learn from them. For example - investment in the project.
  • Deliberate Provocation of hackers to detect vulnerabilities at an early stage of the project. It is better to carry out these measures now, when easier to provide a refund of currency to a small group of users, than when the project will grow to 1,000,000 users... (STEEMIT will).
  • For the outside developers. No need close this function on the website, if you made project with open-source. Simplifies the creation of statistical and analytical services for the the platforms by the users.
  • The creators have abandoned/forgotten about it. However, taking into account how quickly they improve the project, it's unlikely...maybe it's Masonic conspiracy?

I don't have money in my wallet, so I don't know how users, who already have large sums, relate to this function . Are they feeling some psychological discomfort? Would you like if any passer-by could to get into your pocket, grab your wallet, and check out all the cash and cards?

This is not a post of hate or discontent. I wanna understand how does STEEMIT works, and what can we expect from tomorrow. Will glad to hear comments from all users
