September 2 was the last day of the 2018 Asian Games. The overall champion with a collection of 132 gold achievements.

Japan finished second with a score of 75 gold medals. For the Japanese contingent, that number was the second largest after making 78 gold in Bangkok 1966.

South Korea is in third place with 49 gold medals, followed by Indonesia with 31 gold medals. That number is the highest record in Indonesia throughout the history of organizing the Asian Games, at odds with 20 gold medals compared to Jakarta in 1962.

The record for the most gold medals not only belongs to Indonesia at the 2018 Asian Games, Uzbekistan which finished in fifth position also did.

Uzbekistan shifted Iran from fifth with 21 gold medals. The record for most gold medals from the previous Soviet Union was 15 at the 2002 Asian Games.

The three other countries that broke the record were Bahrain, Kyrgyzstan and Cambodia.

Bahrain won 12 gold medals at the 2018 Asian Games, three more than in 2014. Meanwhile, Cambodia and Kyrgyzstan both collected two gold pieces, but it was enough to break their record.

Cambodia only reached one gold in Incheon 2014. As for Kyrgyzstan, the best achievement was one gold medal in 2002 and 2010.

Other achievements noted United Korea. The joint contingent of South Korea and North Korea that managed to handle differences with medals, one downloaded was gold.

Countries that do not get medals include Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Brunei, Maldives, Palestine, Timor Leste, Yemen and Oman.
