Yesterday, when I saw several posts recommending power up at 100% due to the parity of the Steem and SBD, this is very close to 1, even at some point it has been below 1, and some of my friends have asked me if it is really a good decision
The truth is a difficult question at first I thought it was a great idea to put everything to 100% but the price of the SBD continues to stay slightly above the steem, so I was not totally sure
A few days ago talked about how to calculate the price of the rewards, so I will leave Math speak for me.
If we have a post with 100$ of reward (that we know that they are not USD, they are Steem Tokens)
By setting the post to power up 100% the final reward would be
100 * 75% = 75
If we use the price of Steem that at the time of writing this post is $ 3.20
75 / 3.20 = 23.43 Steem Power
Now if we set 50% / 50%, the calculations would be
100 * 75% = 75
75/50% = 37.5
So
37.5 SBD
37.5 / 3.20 = 11.71 Steem Power
The parity for the moment of this post is calculated based on $3.36 for each SBD and $3.20 for each steem
$ 3.36 / $ 3.20 = 1.05
If we change the SBD to steem
37.5 * 1.05 = 39.375 steems
The total of the reward in steem would be
39.375 + 11.71 = 51.085 Steems
Conclusion
If we put power up 100% we would only receive 23.43 steem as steem Power
But with 50% / 50% we can have about 51,085 steem to change all our sbd in steem
So even though the price parity of the sbd and steem is 1 or very close, the best strategy according to my calculation would be to keep the reward of the posts in 50% / 50%
