Best of Steemit Every Day

Best of the Best Logo

Every day, I bring you eight posts you should think hard about upvoting and supporting. These are quality posts, well written and good examples of the best the community has to offer. Please consider checking them out, and if you agree, love them up.

Today, we have a mixed bag. I spent longer on this post today than on any BestOf in a while. It takes a bit to sort through the ascending piles of junk on the website to find gems, and at least once I linked a post, then thought, “you know, that’s not really good enough to recommend.” I pulled it down, and looked for another one. I’m not selling you junk, here. All my love, minnows. If you made it on the list, you did good work today.

I promised a post every day, and today was especially hard to deliver on. Long, hard day. But you're worth it.

Today's Best

Writing (Fiction): Salt, Part 1 of 3 by @erikj. Grab a beverage for this one, because it’s long, but you won’t regret having spent the time. Another very good writer joins the community.

Writing (Nonfiction): Weird But True Facts by @katdvine. A clever little post that taught me something, which is not a small thing. I love learning tiny facts like this. Looking forward to more.

Writing (Craft): How to Organize Your Steemit Posts by @kaylinart. Kaylin is a whale by almost any definition, but seriously, one reason is because of posts like this. It’s possible that you could find a better point-by-point illustration of how to write a quality post, but I don’t know where. I upvoted this, and then I bookmarked it. I can see it being useful every day.

Steemit community: Steemit’s Problem: Panic Voting by @kava. Several posts today on this precise topic, how a lot of--most of?--the upvotes seem to be cast without the post even being opened. @kava proposes one solution. What would yours be?

Introduceyourself: Hey Steemit! I’m MumofMany by @mumofmany. Cute post from Queensland, Australia. The community never stops growing.

Steem: Who Pays People on Steemit? by @adil. Good basic primer on how the Steemit site generates STEEM, for those who don’t understand how all this works.

Photography: Getting Lost in Venice by @mk40. I love Venice. Great photography here.

Special Prize: Painting The Living Darkness by @artofjph. Excellent piece of mixed media here. Take a look.

As always, suggestions for posts to honor are gratefully accepted.

Rules of the Best Of:

I don't like grammar and spelling errors. I make them, but I hate them. Unless the post is supremely brilliant, even a couple of these--especially in the title--will mean it doesn't make this list. NOTE: if you're writing in your second language, significant slack will be given here. When I write in my second language, I'm lucky if I can be understood at all.

Minnows--I am a minnow, and I'm all in on support for the newbies. Doesn't mean I won't curate a whale post, but it's unlikely. If your rating is over 70, you don't need my help (for whatever it's worth).

I don't do porn, however artful.

Original content only.

I take requests. Gratefully. But not for your own work. Push someone else into the spotlight.
