Chunks of ice at the pole, a response to @xpilar post (part 2)

Hello lovely Stemian
Seeing art makes us surf our minds. @xpilar can bring our subconscious to create imagination, thoughts or interpretation of the work he publishes. All comments or opinions are never judged as a mistake. So let's look and then give our thoughts in a post. @xpilar made its posting a competition that all Steemians could participate in. Steemian was asked to make both fiction and non-fiction stories based on the artwork he made. If you are interested, please read the following post.

Utilizing chunks of drifting glaciers

Global warming has made the polar ice caps split and washed away by ocean currents. This chunk will continue to float until it finally disappears due to melting and mixing with sea water. More and more glacial chunks that are washed away can certainly increase the height of the water and submerged small islands, If the islands are inhabited then their lives will be threatened.
In fact, we know that chunks of ice contain lots of fresh water. I imagine that if we take drifting ice to be used as a way to meet the needs of clean water it would be more beneficial. The consideration is that if the floating ice is gone, it would be better utilized for the needs of the community.

Choosing chunks of ice

We must be selective in choosing ice blocks that can be taken. Glaciers that are carried by currents and are unlikely to be able to get back near the poles can be utilized. All these must be mutually agreed upon to preserve the glacier as well. Don't just take the glacier and then have a bad impact on polar ice.

For humanity

The removal or extraction of glaciers must be aimed at humanitarian interests. For example, for countries experiencing clean water crisis, they have to prioritize the use of glaciers. For that reason, of course there must be an institution that can be an intermediary and regulator in the use of glaciers.

As drinking water

The priority of taking away glaciers is to meet basic needs. In the face of water and food crisis water can be used to overcome problems related to water.

Melts during transfer

.
When the glacier is moved there will definitely be a melting process. Melting glaciers must be accommodated so they can be used. The transfer process can remain by sea and is given a container that allows each melt to enter one place so that it can be utilized at the destination country.

That is my thinking about the lump of glacier that I caught when I saw the @xpilar post.

Thank you for reading my post. I hope you enjoy it.
