And the Lord said to Satan, "Where have come from? So Satan answered the Lord and said, "From going to and fro on the earth and from walking back and forth on it (Job 1: 7)
The Bible is amazing Book because most of the time, it offers us a chance by lifting us up from the natural and physical realms to the spiritual and heavenly realms and gives us a view of events that have a direct and indirect impact and effect on our lives in particular and the world in general.
We are told of a man in ancient middle east of an outstanding character of righteousness and was also very rich and wealthy. His name was Job. Then all of sudden, a series of unnatural, but natural in those days happened to him all in one day. He lost all his livestock business, all his workers and all his children to these unnatural disasters. Thank God it's not today and not in the part of the world I come from. We would have said to Job, he is occultic, God is punishing him (Nyame na atua no ka), he is cursed, he is a witched, he has done juju, etc. Actually that is what his three friends thought of him any way, and many others too. Sadly, these happened to him because God was proud of him and because he was righteous in the sight of God.
We standing outside of space and time come to know that what was happening to Job actually had to do with some events in Heaven. It's not in my power to delve into it, but to point some truths to you.
We to know that Satan, the devil, that ancient serpent is on patrol on earth, and causing all the troubles and problems he can for you and for me, and for nations across the earth. He has become like the Earth Rover, and he is not moving about aimlessly or wasting his time and energy. He is actually working so hard, and sadly,he is achieving so much with his wicked goals. He is not even working alone, he has numerous agents, and forces working with him. Apostle Peter said, he walk about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5: 8)- and Apostles John said, the whole world is under his sway or control (1 John 5: 19), therefore he leads the whole world astray into destruction (Rev 12: 10).
So what are we supposed to do about it? If you are not a Christian and don't belong to the Lord Jesus Christ, don't worry about it. But if you are Christ's, then you are to come under the mighty hand of God because, God's eyes are also moving to and fro through out the earth seeking His own to protect them and to show Himself strong on their behalf (2Chron 16: 9). So come under the Name of the Lord, for Bible says, it's a strong tower for the righteous and those who seek refuge there are always saved.
Peter exhorts us also to be sober and vigilant and resist him steadfast in the faith and he would flee from us.
How do we resist him? Scripture reveals that we overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and by the Word of our testimony (Rev 12: 11) and by using the Armour of God and the Sword of the Spirit (Eph 6: 14 -18). These make us overcomers and victorious over that wicked Earth Rover that is on patrol to destroy.
And if you don't know what the Blood of the Lamb, the Testimony of the Believer, the Armour of God and the Sword of the Spirit are, I counsel you to find someone to teach you and to learn how to apply and use them. If you don't, the know that there is no neutral ground, for your wicked enemies are on patrol anyway.
May the Name of the Lord which is a strong tower keep us all safe and may the Blood of the Lamb keep the destroyer and every wicked earth rover from our lives, possession and family in Jesus name. Amen
