Ha! I love these kinds of stories. Science is confirming the accuracy of Biblical events on an almost daily basis and this is another one.. although they aren't admitting to that part of their discovery, of course.

What an interesting story I found today. Science News reported that an archaeologist from Trinity Southwest University in Albuquerque has concluded that a “superheated blast from the skies destroyed cities and farming settlements north of the Dead Sea around 3,700 years ago.”
Hey that's exactly what the Bible says happened when God took out those cities with fire and brimstone from above, imagine that!
They found “radiocarbon dating and unearthed minerals that instantly crystallized at high temperatures indicate a massive airburst caused by a meteor that exploded in the atmosphere, instantaneously destroyed civilization in a 25-kilometer-wide circular plain called Middle Ghor."
Excavations indicate that the area was occupied for 2,500 years before a sudden collapse near the end of the Bronze Age. The university has been researching the location for 10 years and radiocarbon dating has found that the mud brick walls instantly vaporized, leaving only the foundations.
“What’s more, the outer layers of many pieces of pottery from the same time period show signs of having melted into glass. Zircon crystals in those glassy coats formed within one second at extremely high temperatures, perhaps as hot as the SURFACE OF THE SUN." researchers said.
Whoa...that's some serious heat. I wonder how that could happen?
Also, this.."And tiny bits of rock were found on pottery fragments, suggesting it “rained down.”
The researchers concluded that the annihilation was "most likely caused by a meteoritic airburst event.” And of course, this event only happened to those two cities and immediate area, precisely the way the Bible describes it.
Once again science confirms the accuracy of the Bible which is a constant occurence these days. These ARE the days of increased knowledge spoken of in the Bible afterall!
