STEEMCHURCH: FORGIVE OTHERS!

FORGIVE OTHERS

Answer, is to forgive others. Frankly, our loving Father in Heaven simply does not listen to those who come to Him in a spirit of revenge, bitterness or hatred. Immediately after the prayer known as the "Our Father", which is an example of prayer that teaches us the general way of addressing God, Jesus admonished his followers: "If you forgive men their offenses, they will also forgive you. you your heavenly Father; but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses "(Matthew 6: 14-15).

The prophet Isaiah warned us, by divine inspiration, not to enter into the presence of God if we are oppressing others, accusing others or are engaged in serving the self. These are his words: "If you remove the yoke, the threatening finger, and the vanity talk from among you; and if you give your bread to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul, your light will arise in the darkness, and your darkness will be as noonday "(Isaiah 58: 9-10).

Jesus tells us the same thing: "Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar, and there you remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar, and go, reconcile yourself first with your brother, and then come and present your offering "(Matthew 5: 23-24).

It is necessary that we go before God with an attitude of repentance and forgiveness. Otherwise, and as Jesus said, God will not forgive us! Having a humble and merciful spirit is key for God to hear us. The inspired Word tells us: "But I will look to him who is poor and humble in spirit, and who trembles at my word" (Isaiah 66: 2).
