In a world where everyone is crazy about money, in hopes of attaining happiness, many have pursued it at all cost. However, we would be looking at six ways we can attain true happiness in this post, we will examine two ways.

  • Contentment and Generosity.

It is often believed that a lot of money brings happiness. But in a real sense it brings worry, lack of sleep and heart attacks literally or symbolically because wealth and possessions have to be protected. More on that, wealth may move someone to let go of more important things. Additionally, one can be aggrieved and frustrated when the value of investments fail.

Proverbs 23:4,5 gives an insight towards that.

Do not wear yourself out to gain wealth.Stop and show understanding. When you cast your eyes on it, it is not there,For it will surely sprout wings like an eagle and fly off into the sky

Moving on, on the other hand, contentment can bring happiness

1 Timothy 6:7,8 says

For we have brought nothing into the world, and neither can we carry anything out. So, having food and clothing, we will be content with these things.

Yes indeed, those who choose to remain content save themselves from unnecessary stress and anxiety that may result from misguided desires that supersedes their means.

Geneorisity can bring happiness how so? The bible says at Acts 20:35

I have shown you in all things that by working hard in this way, you must assist those who are weak and must keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, when he himself said: ‘There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.

Giving here doesn’t necessarily mean giving money out to people. It could be giving as little as our energy or time to support others. It could even be saying something kind to others. Doing this, we can gain respect, love and real friendships things money cannot buy.

  • Physical and mental heatlth.

Be chaste in habits. Avoid having too much of drink or too much of food to eat. Its bad for your physical health and even for your finances (proverbs 23:20,21)

Do not pollute your body. (2 Corinthians 7:11) people can defile themselves by smoking tobacco, drugs and even alcohol abuse.

We want to view our bodies as a gift from God. Appreciating that life is a gift from God will help us to avoid bad habits and avoid unnecessary risks while at work, or recreation. This in turn will promote our happiness.

Trust me. There is nothing like being strong, healthy, and physically fit.

Always avoid negative feelings and focus more on positive emotions.

It is often said that there is a link between our mind and body. Well that may be true. So try to avoid needless anxiety, anger and other hurtful feelings.

Psalms 37:8 warns.

Let go of anger and abandon rage; Do not become upset and turn to doing evil.

Positive thinking on the other hand gives rest of mind and happiness. The bible says at proverbs 17:22.

A joyful heart is good medicine, But a crushed spirit saps one’s strength.
