Why Steemit will take the crown

My prediction that Steemit will take over Ethereum on coinmarketcap has generated a few reactions so i wanted to elaborate on why i think this might be the case.

Steemit works for non crypto people.

About two years ago, i tweeted that cryptocurrency was in need of a Steve Jobs. What i mean by that is that one of the things that made Apple such a massive success is that their approach to personal computing was one that started with user experience in mind. What many in the crypto space often overlook, is the that the majority hasn't got a single clue what blockchains, sidechains, smart contracts, proof-of-work, or any other concept related to cryptocurrency is, and they're not interested either.

What's needed is a 100% grandma proof platform that doesn't require any, and i do mean any, technical knowledge whatsoever.
Steemit is the first crypto related platform ever, at least to my knowledge, that can be used effortlessly by anyone. It doesn't have a steep learning curve and requires zero technical knowledge on cryptocurrency. In fact, people can start using it right away without even considering the crypto related aspect of it.

Steemit is the app Ethereum developers should've build

Ethereum and Steemit are apples and pears. One is a 'worldcomputer' to build decentralised applications on top of. The other is a decentralised application. So far though Ethereum has seen some amazing concepts however none of these match up to Steemit's caliber or potential. The process of holding Ether is still not for the uninitiated, while generating Steem Dollars and Steem Power is as easy as posting on a message board or upvoting a post.

It has to be said however that Ethereum is far from finished, the platform still boasts massive potential to profoundly transform the internet. As developers around the world are currently hard at work building the next huge thing, we can expect a great deal of innovation emerging out of Ethereum. With Steemit however they have some serious competition on their hands.

Steemit's leadership is one of the major forces in crypto

Those who've been following @dan 's work for the past few years know that we have one of crypto's brightest working on this. As the driving force behind Bitshares Its clear that @dan and @ned have the vision, technical knowledge and experience to not only build this thing but more importantly to keep it running.

As one can easily imagine, building a platform of this magnitude has to be quite an endeavour, or as @innuendo put it: 'It takes balls to roll out a social network like this'

Steemit works, for you

Steemit is not just for developers, it is a platform that anyone can take part in as it successfully converges two major forces, cryptocurrency and social networking. Because it enhances an already working model it holds a strong position in the market. As one of the first Facebook users in my social circle i noticed rather quickly that FB was on a steady pace to take over Myspace as the number one social network. Similar to Steemit, i noticed it predominantly in my own use. Steemit's colossal growth over the past few days proves that many are feeling the same way. As far as competitors, It is quite clear that we're on a collision course with Reddit, but i don't think it'll stop there.

TO THE MOON!
