Notice How You Get Fewer Votes When an Autovoting Service is Down?

Did you notice yesterday how you might have received less votes and potential payout value? That's because the SteemAuto service was down.

It revealing how much the platform depends on automated services, and not on human behavior for voting and curation on a social media site. Are non-human actions really "social"? I think not. But we most of us benefit from it, and it's not going anywhere... even if it's an issue for some.

A post from @crokkon a few days ago called What is the reward pool share of vote sellers, bid bots and autovotes? shows how much of the platform is being run by autovotes, and not social human behavior from consciousness.

Here are vote counts and vote values in rshares (stake) from those votes.

WhoVotesValue
Steemauto auto-votes41.17%6.81%
Steemdunk auto-votes1.50%0.26%

That means nearly half all all votes are coming from autovotes. But It's less than 7% of the stake. So even though most of the voting on the platform is automated (which is sad if you think about it), it's not where most of the rewards are coming from.

Where are most of the rewards coming from? It looks like manual votes still account for the most amount of rewards being allocated on the platform through the stake of those votes. But the vote sellers account for nearly 30% of the rewards being applied on posts on the whole platform, yet they only make up 1% of the votes being case, as shown below:

WhoVotesValue
Bid-bots/paid bots1.03%28.17%

Take that in.

42% of the votes on the platform are from autovote services. But they only account for Under 7% of the rewards being allocated.

1% of the votes on the platform are from vote selling bots. But they account for a whopping 28% of rewards being allocated.

Thank you for your time and attention. Peace.
