What to do when new Splinterlands cards are released

I totally forgot about the new Splinterlands cards that were released on 10th February 2020. I had completed my daily quest a day after their release and then got a card I had never seen before, I looked at the name “Barking Spider” and then remembered it was on the list of the new cards that were to be released and that was when it hit me that the new cards have been released.

I remember when the Unchained cards were released, I was just about a month plus into the game and had been trying so hard to master the Alpa, Beta, Promo and Reward cards in existence when I joined, adding new monsters to the list of things I needed to study was a bit of hard work for me.

Back then, before the release of the Unchained cards, the Goblin Mech was a great tank for most of my battles until I started encountering Chain Golem in the battle field. Mehn! That monster sure rocks. Lol. As I continued to learn and use the new monsters in collaboration with the existing ones I started getting use to them and what they are able to contribute to the friendly line so that the battle is won.

Some of the new monsters are introduced based on the non availability of such monsters and abilities all packed into them. That is why the topic “What to do when new Splinterlands cards are released" is important to discuss.

So what do you do when new cards are released?

First things first, you should know the name of the monster, the splinter it belongs to and the abilities it has. Yes, 3 in 1 first things. Lol. But really, that is all you need to know. The reason for this is, as you click that battle button and the rule set is rolled out for the battle, you should be able to determine which monsters will do well using the best splinter you feel can win such battle. Knowing this means you are calculating in your head which monsters will fit perfectly for the battle based on the mana limit provided.

In those two minutes plus given for you to choose your monsters and click the battle button, we find make don’t making to the point of clicking the battle button hence the game rules that you have surrendered and fled the battle scene. Lol. I love when that happens if I am not so sure of my selection or the outcome of the battle but when I am 99% sure (can’t be 100% sure because anything can happen), I sometimes wish the opponent didn’t surrender because I want to see how I did the beating. Lol. Anyways, spending too much time deciding which monsters to use because of the new cards shouldn’t be a problem if we learn about their names, splinter and abilities beforehand.

If by chance you don’t know about the new monsters that has been released, then suggest you read this post https://steemit.com/splinterlands/@splinterlands/new-reward-cards-and-updates .
