AC Milan are no longer the team they once were when they had players like Kaka, Maldini, Pirlo, Seedorf, Schevchenko. Today, their best player is 39 years old, which says a lot about the team.
15/16 years ago, there was Istanbul when a seemingly invincible Milan side took on huge underdogs Liverpool. 3-0 up at half time, most thought it was game over and then the unthinkable happened. 2 years later, Milan would get their revenge against a better Liverpool team.
Liverpool have improved a lot since then and would on their day and all their players fit, probably be amongst the strongest sides in Europe. Milan though have slid down the rankings and are pretty bad if we're being honest. Calling them a tier 2 team in the Champion's League would be generous.
So, with all that said, Liverpool were expected to beat Milan easily. However, for all their dominance, they found themselves a goal down at the half.
Then, the fight back happened and Jordan Henderson scored the winner, with Liverpool coming back against Milan again. Not the best start but three points are three points.
