Hello my dear world traveller friends, who introduce us to the wonders of our planet, I greet you and hope you are well wherever you are.

We talk a lot about the sites, iconic places, tours or some unspoiled and natural place, but how do we get there? Many use their feet 🚶‍♀, others by bicycle 🚴‍♀, motorbikes 🏍 (I love this means), cars 🚗, boats 🛥 and finally the one I am going to talk about today,

**The aeroplane and the airports of my country (I present two, the main one in Venezuela and the one in my city, Barcelona).**

Why do I want to present the airports? Because there we spend hours and hours waiting for our flights and the preparation begins days before because of the restrictions, what is forbidden and what is not, to prevent any delay and of course, everything we need to make our stay as pleasant as possible.

For my evaluation and samples, I am going to tell you several elements that I consider important for a wonderful stay in these places. First I want to declare that I LOVE! airports, I love their architecture, their attention, availability, relaxation spaces, seeing planes arrive and depart, the people who make a flight possible, imagining stories, seeing many people travelling for different reasons and for many other things, it is one of my places of thought, joy, tears and many emotions together.

Hola mis queridos amigos viajeros del mundo, que nos presenten las maravillas de nuestro planeta, les saludo esperando que se encuentren bien en el lugar que esten.

Mucho hablamos de los sitios, lugares icónicos, tours o algún sitio virgen y natural, pero ¿Cómo llegamos allí? Muchos usan sus pies 🚶‍♀, otros en bicicleta 🚴‍♀, motos 🏍 (este medio me encanta), carros 🚗, barcos 🛥 y por último el que les vengo a hablar hoy, El avión y los aeropuertos de mi país (Presento dos, el principal de Venezuela y el de mi ciudad, Barcelona).

¿Por qué quiero presentar los aeropuertos? Porque allí pasamos horas y horas esperando nuestros vuelos y la preparación comienza días antes por aquellos de las restricciones, lo prohibido y no, prevenir algún retraso y por supuesto, todo lo que necesitamos para hacer nuestra estadía, lo más agradable posible. Para mi evaluación y muestras, les voy a decir varios elementos que considero yo importantes para una estadía maravillosa en estos sitios. Antes quiero declarar que yo soy ¡AMANTE! de los aeropuertos, me encanta su arquitectura, su atención, disponibilidad, espacios de relajación, ver llegar y partir los aviones, las personas que hacen posible que un vuelo se pueda lograr, imaginarme historias, ver a mucha gente que viaja por diferentes motivos y por muchas cosas más, es uno de mis lugares de pensamiento, alegría, lágrimas y muchas emociones juntas.

**La conexión** En un mundo de conexión e internet donde hasta para leerme o leer nuestras publicaciones necesitas una señal, esto es importante... Los dos aeropuertos carecen de internet Eso no debe ser permitido ¡Oye! Pagamos impuesto, pagamos un pasaje, tienen subsidio del gobierno y ¿No tienen internet? No es justo. Si necesitamos hacer un pago, avisar a la familia que llegamos, escribirle a alguien mientras estamos en la espera, o como nosotros que nos viene la inspiración y podemos aprovecharla en el teletrabajo, nos sentimos atados de mano porque no hay internet (al menos gratis). Las dos posibles soluciones son: por un lado, en los locales de comida o que venden _souvenir_ puedes llegar a un acuerdo y pagar un equivalente a $5 para que te suministren la clave. La otra alternativa es comprar un plan previo al viaje (si estas en el extranjero y llegues al país) que sirva de router para poder obtener señal y puedas estar comunicado por si el vuelo se retrasa o algún percance hasta llegar al destino. Me parece una limitación, contando que todos los aeropuertos (al menos los que yo he visitado, cuentan con su plan de internet para los propios y visitantes), así que tomen sus precauciones si visitan nuestro hermoso país.

**The connection** In a world of connectivity and internet where even to read me or our publications you need a signal, this is important... Both airports have no internet Hey! We pay tax, we pay a ticket, they have a government subsidy and they don't have internet? That's not fair. If we need to make a payment, let the family know we are arriving, write to someone while we are waiting, or like us when inspiration strikes and we can take advantage of it while teleworking, we feel hand tied because there is no internet (at least for free). The two possible solutions are: on the one hand, in food shops or souvenir shops you can make a deal and pay the equivalent of $5 to get the key. The other alternative is to buy a pre-travel plan (if you are abroad and arrive in the country) that serves as a router so that you can get a signal and stay connected in case your flight is delayed or there is a mishap until you arrive at your destination. It seems to me a limitation, considering that all airports (at least the ones I have visited, have their own internet plan for their own and visitors), so take your precautions if you visit our beautiful country.

**Orden y limpieza** Eso si tienen estos dos aeropuertos, son pequeños comparados con el de Cartagena o el de Perú, pero si les puedo decir que los dos son IMPECABLES. Esta muy bien cuidado en cuanto al piso, los baños, las correas del viajero, los puestos de atención del usuario y de la venta de boletos, siempre esta señalizada, separada, muy iluminada, hasta las ventanas y los alrededores estan muy bien cuidados, sientes que estas entrando a un sitio distinto a todo el desorden de la ciudad. En cuanto al orden y atención, también es notorio que cuando necesitas atención, la tienes a disposición de todo el personal que te indica lo que tienes que hacer, el personal siempre identificado pero hasta los que manejan taxi te pueden dar información si la solicitas. Desconozco si hablan inglés u otro idioma, pero un mundo tan conectado seguramente alguno habla o con simples palabras puedes expresarte y ser entendido.

**Order and cleanliness** These two airports are small compared to Cartagena or Peru, but I can tell you that they are both IMPECCABLE. It is very well maintained in terms of the floor, the toilets, the traveler's straps, the customer service and ticket booths, always signposted, separated, very well lit, even the windows and the surroundings are very well maintained, you feel that you are entering a different place to all the mess of the city. As for the order and attention, it is also notorious that when you need attention, you have it at the disposal of all the staff that tells you what you have to do, the staff is always identified but even the taxi drivers can give you information if you ask for it. I don't know if they speak English or any other language, but in such a connected world surely one of them speaks or with simple words you can express yourself and be understood.

**De la comida** Este punto es débil porque si, hay comida, mucha variedad y abierta a todo momento para aquellas personas que pueden pasar horas y que necesitan alimentarse. Pollos hamburguesas, pizzas, comida venezolana, cadenas alimenticias, podemos encontrar para todos los gustos. Les cuento que he probado algunas y es muy sabrosa, nada que envidiar a comer en la calle. También puedes encontrar chocolates, dulces, postres, en realidad en los dos aeropuertos esta bien variado el menú. ¿El detalles? Es super costosa, tanto así que un solo pan puede costarte $5 y un jugo alrededor de $3. Obviamente que va a depender de la complejidad del plato, así que debe llevar su dinero preparado si es su intención probar o comprar algo ligero mientras esperas. El presupuesto aumenta si es una familia de 4 personas por ejemplo, se invierten fácilmente más de $20. Para ustedes puede sonar normal, pero un país como el nuestro es super costoso. Tome sus previsiones porque puede salirse un poco del presupuesto.

**Food** This point is weak because yes, there is food, a lot of variety and open at all times for those who can spend hours and need to feed themselves. Chicken hamburgers, pizzas, Venezuelan food, food chains, there is something for everyone. I have tried some of them and they are very tasty, nothing to envy eating in the street. You can also find chocolates, sweets, desserts, in fact in both airports the menu is very varied. The downside? It's super expensive, so much so that a single loaf of bread can cost you $5 and a juice around $3. Obviously it will depend on the complexity of the dish, so you should bring your money ready if you intend to try or buy something light while you wait. The budget increases if you are a family of 4 for example, you will easily spend more than $20. For you it may sound normal, but in a country like ours it is super expensive. Take your precautions because it can be a bit out of budget.

**Itinerario** Esto tiene un punto negativo también porque en los dos aeropuertos, he tenido vuelos a tiempo y sin complicaciones y otros con muchas horas de retraso sin ninguna explicación o algun tipo de compensación. He estado en otros aeropuertos, donde tienen retrasos y te dan un 10% de descuento en otro boleto, por ejemplo. Aquí por 4 horas te dicen "tenemos retraso, tomen un agua" y hasta allí llega el acompañamiento. Nadie te da una explicación exacta, no hay autoridades cercas, o algún punto para levantar la queja. En el panorama que no traigas internet, necesitas avisarle a tu familia el retraso, puede que traigas poco dinero y no puedas comer en el aeropuerto, además si tienes que tomar alguna conexión ¿Cómo haces con 4 horas de retraso? Me parece que ese punto deberian estudiarlo mejor y compensar con algún tipo de indemnizacion al pasajero.

**Itinerary** This has a negative point also because at both airports, I have had flights on time and without complications and others with many hours of delay without any explanation or any kind of compensation. I have been in other airports, where they have delays and they give you a 10% discount on another ticket, for example. Here for 4 hours they tell you "we are late, have a water" and that's as far as the accompaniment goes. Nobody gives you an exact explanation, there are no authorities nearby, or any point to complain. If you don't bring internet, you need to tell your family about the delay, you may bring little money and not be able to eat at the airport, and if you have to take a connection, how do you do it with 4 hours of delay? It seems to me that they should study this point better and compensate the passenger with some kind of compensation.

I like airports and I think the infrastructure is very good. I like the large windows to appreciate the runways and everything that happens in it; I think there are many things to improve but in general terms, I would give them a

6/10.

If they improve the prices, the air conditioning, the itineraries and above all the internet, believe me it would have a better score.

¿Lo positivo? A mi me gustan los aeropuertos y pienso que en infraestructura esta muy bien. Me gustan sus amplios ventanales para apreciar las pistas y todo lo que pasa en él; pienso que hay muchas cosas por mejorar pero en lineas generales, yo les daría un 6/10.

Si mejoran los precios, el aire acondicionado, los itinerarios y sobre todo ponen internet, creáme que tendría una mejor puntuación. P.D.
