Dortmund have terminated the contract with Andre Schürrle who has not lived up to expectations. The winger has since switched to the German big club with just 3 goals scored in 33 games. For the past two seasons, the German has been on loan to Fulham and Spartak Moscow, respectively. Schürrle most recently appeared for Spartak Moscow, who had a call option on him worth €60million, but the Russian club chose not to make use of it.

Since the excellent assist to Mario Götze in the 2014 World Cup final for Germany, Schürrle has not experienced much success. The following year, Chelsea sold him back to the Bundesliga, where Wolfsburg benefited from him in a single season with reasonable performances. Dortmund saw the potential in the national team player, but the change was not as expected.

With 57 matches for the German national team as well as both World Cup and Premier League medals, he is an experienced man who can now be acquired free and clear. However, there are still good chances that Andre Schürrle can kickstart his career in a new European club and find his way back to the form he was in on the World Cup-winning German national team.
