Fil-German big man Christian Standhardinger was still present at Gilas Pilipinas training at the Meralco gym last night.

It was not until hours before the national team's practice that Standhardinger suddenly traded from San Miguel Beer to NorthPort.

Gilas Pilipinas coach Tim Cone said he told Standhardinger he could leave the practice early if he didn't want to face the press. Cone said he understands if Standhardinger doesn't want to talk about the trade first.

Cone, however, is pleased that Standhardinger is still here, as he may refuse to attend the practice because of his emotional state.

Cone points out that Standhardinger knows how to do business, is not a rookie, and is not new to playing in the league.

Standhardinger was widely credited for his war as he played basketball in Germany and other parts of the world.
