James Harden's 40-point play was not enough when the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Houston Rockets, 128-114, in NBA preseason games held at the AT&T Center in Houston.

LaMarcus Aldrige and Dejounte Murray joined forces to destroy the Rockets.

Aldrige had 22 points and six rebounds while Murray had 20 points, three assists and four rebounds.

From the first quarter the Spurs took advantage and never let the Rockets out

The Spurs also outscored the Rockets in the offensive line with 57 percent overall compared to just the 43 Rockets.

Aside from Harden, 14 points, four rebounds and four assists by Russel Westbrook and Eric Gordon's 14 points was also wasted.
