American boxer Patrick Day has died after suffering a brain injury in his recent fight with Charles Conwell.
The boxer was sent to Northwestern Memorial Hospital when he was knocked out in the 10th round by Conwell for a super-welterweight belt at Wintrust Arena, Chicago.
Patrick Day promoter Lou Dibella is now calling on American officials to adopt safety standards in boxing.
