Defendant Arellano University thwarted San Sebastian College-Recoletos' attempt at a 25-17, 25-18, 25-27, 25-13 decision to join the NCAA Season 95 women's volleyball tournament yesterday at The Arena in San Juan City.

The Lady Chiefs quickly recovered from their weak play in the third set to put the Lady Stags in the fourth frame.

Two-time Finals MVP Regine Anne Arocha unleashed her fury after posting a career-high 24 points from 19 attacks, 4 aces, and 1 block to lead the Lady Chiefs to victory.

The win brought Arellano to social leadership with Saint Benilde holding a similar 4-0 mark.

“It's not really a good game for the players. Lots of today. I setter no, my middle is not effective today, ”said coach Obet Javier.

The Lady Stags have yet to win four games.

In the men's division, Christian Dela Paz scored 29 points to lift the Chiefs to a 25-23, 16-25, 25-27, 25-19, 16-14 win over the Stags and set a 4-0 record as the defending Perpetual Help Dalta.
