VIDEO: USWNT Coach Jill Ellis on Tonight's Match vs. Costa Rica

The United States Women's National Team faces off against Costa Rica in Kansas City, KS this evening (9PM, ESPN) in the final warm-up friendly ahead of the Olympics.

Ellis may look to get back-up keeper Alyssa Naeher a start, now that first choice net-minder Hope Solo is in the record books with 100 clean sheets following the last match. Of the 16 field players available, I'd expect Megan Rapinoe to stay on the shelf, possibly alongside Morgan Brian, whose hamstrings don't seem interested in healing.

One player who looks very good in practice is Carli Lloyd. I've previously expressed a preference for her to be used more as a forward, but if video provided by U.S. Soccer / Wazee Digital I've posted on HerPitch.com is any indication of her current form, the tournament sides in Brazil should be getting very, very nervous.

Due to the subbing rules for friendlies, every other player could be used in this match. It's going to be a hot night in Kansas, so look for Ellis to protect her superstars while ensuring they have enough time to work together as a first team.

Here's what Ellis had to say about the matchup with Costa Rica. Video courtesy of U.S. Soccer / Wazee Digital.
