The best price arbitrage opportunities I have ever utilized have consistently come with @splinterlands attached to it. Most of these included DEC. These arbitrage profits are not only about having different prices on exchanges; but also related to assets having fixed prices using two different currencies. These are usually not trades that would pique the interest of investors who are not convinced of the future potential of @splinterlands and whales are unlikely to have a significant impact on their portfolio as these trades are only profitable at low volumes.
This Must Not Be News!
I'm not the only person to notice this and I cannot be the only person writing about this. If there is any news here, that will be about how much larger the margins have become. I had already converted DEC into VOUCHERs when 800 DEC used exchange for more than 5 VOUCHERs. The margins keep shrinking and I thought the markets may have become efficient at pricing DEC/VOUCHER
I was very wrong for the better! I had to check twice to confirm the extra 33% of value I was getting. Slippage easily eats into these margins. My trading volumes are only moderately affected by this.
I made part of the trade using Diesel Pools and used feeless trades on HIVE-Engine orderbook for rest of the orders.
SPS Chain Creates New Limitations
I do not have the technical knowledge to speculate why transfers cannot be directly done from HIVE-Engine to the game. It could be the team trying to simplify internal system to reduce costs and/or reduce the number of attack vectors on the project.
DEC Batteries Are DEC Burned
The ~591 Million DEC-B cannot have been sold purely through VOUCHERs. Less circulating supply could help to bring the prices up. Although DEC is not stable around the intended peg of $0.001, it has at least been semi stable around 75% of the target price. This is a great thing for cryptosphere that is in dire need for proper decentralized stablecoins.

At the current rate, it should be possible for me to have 100,000 SPS staked. What usually happen is @splinterlands show up with a new sale where I have to power down some of this SPS to participate.
I have said time and time again that bringing in gamers to blockchain gaming is the best way to onboard news users to cryptosphere. They are already familiar with technology and they get to own the results of their gameplay labor without risking a ban from a spineless corporation that is licking the boots of China.
