# Splinter Stats Season 57 Report Card

@gregory-f

This is going to be a little more than a report on Splinterlands Season 57. You see, 9 days ago was the last day of my working an 8-5 job at the engineering firm I had been with for over 21 years. Now that I've had a full full week to get accustomed to my NEW job as a self employed gamer/blogger, I can report that the new boss is a really great guy!

So far, SPS has been the main income for this new job, with a little bit of income from posting, curating, card rentals, match play and tournaments. Of course, when Land finally kicks in on Splinterlands, that should be another significant source of income. All in all, this feels like such a good move. I'm glad I took the change and made the leap of faith.

I only made it to Diamond III this season which is ok but not quite what my goal was. Since my highest rating was 3039, I was within spitting distance of Tier II, but just couldn't make it over the hump. My win loss ratio was a lot lower that I would have liked, but I did manage to score 111 match wins for the season none the less. Tournament performance was much better with a win/loss ratio 97/68.

I entered 8 tournaments this season and placed in the money in 5 of them. My rewards for the 5 tournaments was 1000 DEC and 93 SPS. With a conversion rate of approximately 47 DEC per SPS based on current prices, that puts my total winnings at a DEC equivalent of 5370 DEC. I'm pretty happy with those winnings.

Hurray for the release of the new Reward Cards. I didn't get any good ones like an Epic, Legendary or Gold Foil card, but I did get a lot common cards and 8 Rare ones. One thing I did notice, the DEC given in the Loot Chests has gotten smaller. For the first time ever, I opened a Loot Chest and received 1 DEC. If it's all the same I'd rather have an Alchemy potion.

My total rewards from ranked play was 11,564 DEC. Definitely not the best Splinterlands Season rewards I've had, but I'll take them just the same.

Rental income on the other hand was fantastic this season. One of the big reasons my rental income has increased so much is that I'm now using Peakmonsters rental tools to help simplify and maximize my rentals. Using Peakmonsters, I'm making more money and spending less time managing the rentals. If you're not using them yet and you have a lot of cards to rent, you owe it to yourself to give them a try.

I'm very happy with the amount of SPS I received this season. I'm working on moving around a little of my DEC and Hive to the Diesel Pool to increase my Airdrop. The Diesel Pool seems to have a lot less price fluctuation than some of the other pools I've tried so I feel comfortable making this move.

Season 57 will always be one that I remember. Since I first heard of Splinterlands I had dreamed that one day I could quit working and be a full time Splinterlands gamer. Three years ago that was just a wild fantasy, but now thanks to the genius of @aggroed and @yabapmatt and all the rest of the Splinterlands team my dream has come true!
