# Gold leagues are so much HARDER after the leasing aftermarket started... - Splinter Stats Season 54 Report Card

@amphlux

I'm not complaining. But it very much is evidently harder right now. So I was having quite the struggle ascending through the gold ranks to hit them precious diamonds. It is a double edged sword in a way, I enjoy tougher opponents, getting stuck in losing streaks kind of sucks though. I did notice a lot of card trends when dealing with opponents ill talk about below.

I am honestly shocked that my ranked ratio was above 1.00. I really felt like I was eating losses left and right when grinding through the mire that was gold ranks. Tournaments are a different beast. And a 12-win streak is crazy.

Total rating movements 6948. I have no idea if thats a ton or not, but it felt like it.

Yodin blasting the hell out of everything, Scarred Llama Mage tossing last resort onto Kron, and Daria Dragonscale pairing with the white splinter with a ton of +melee, Silvershield Assassin+Vigilator combo. Its sick, trust me.

The more cards I get, the less summoners I use it seems. For high manacap games, Red/Dragon-white are usually my go-to splinters. Medium range I go with green/blue usually. I have the DICE green summoner Mylor which i really love, and I usually go green or black for low manacap games.

Silvershield Knight/Assassin is a sick pairing. Goblin Fireballer coming in at spot 5 though, that's weird. Kind of wish there was a little more variety in the 2/1-cast range for red. What I really noticed was my opponents card choices through Gold. There is a TON of healing going on. You will have to figure out how to deal with a lvl3+ Flesh Golem with healing (probably doublestacked healing) because this was by far the most common tank setup I was running into. The 2nd most common tank I was running into was the blue common Sea Monster (with healing). I have a strong feeling that Mimosa Nightshade with her +affliction to enemies will become a much more used card in the near term.

No 100% win rates, but with how much I was grinding that doesn't surprise me. I had some hilarious matches with the amount of Earthquake and/or poison conditions I was coming across. Sometimes I like to play a game of chicken with Earthquake and ignore it, trying to wipe the enemy faster than Earthquake wipes me. Sometimes it works lol.

I'm so eh on tourneys lately. I could probably do well if I actually tried. I got a new girlfriend in real life so I totally neglected that tourney and gave a bunch of people free wins. Oh well. More or less, I'm kinda HODLing my DEC for that sweet, sweet SPS token daily rewards, and grinding for hours through gold, I was too burnt out to do any tourneys.

STILL NO GOLD LEGENDARIES WAAAT COME ON "THE GODS OF SPLINTERLANDS" HOW MANY CHICKENS DO I HAVE TO SACRIFICE TO YOU ALL?!

The aftermarket leasing made this a whole new, much more challenging game. I have leased 0 cards on the aftermarket, more choosing to freely lease the cards to fellow guildmates. I did recently get my real life cousin to play the game @slamlord so I dropped a ton of leasing on him. I am so excited about the future prospects of this game it is downright silly. When monster/summoner-to-land staking comes out....bruh....and when player-staking comes out...BRUH....
