Hi everyone, this is my take on the weekly battle challenge. This week staring:

Disintegrator

Let me introduce you to my lineup:

Lore:

The village folk always say that Tarsa was born with fire in her blood, and that is true in many ways. Her burning rage and quick temper are amplified by her powers to summon and control fire. While her parents and teachers tried to instill patience for such dangerous magic, Tarsa had little time for that. She used her abilities to bully and threaten those that got in her way.

Her young and innocent-looking appearance only helped her to further manipulate people around her. “Tarsa always gets what Tarsa wants” is what she says to herself every time something or someone challenges her.

*When the Chaos Legion arrived, Tarsa saw this as an opportunity to have free reign of her fire power without interference from anyone else. So long as the Chaos Legion opens the path for her, she can burn everything else to the ground. *

Tarsa's laugh echoed into the night. She stood in the middle of the wide-open plains, a blanket of stars above. Her arms moved in circles around her as she controlled a raging torrent of fire. It spun about her, embers drifting up into the night.

She was surrounded by a tribe of barbarians. Barbarians that were angry she was on their land, using their resources, and hunting their animals. They tried to talk to her, but Tarsa cared little for conversation. She was stronger than all of them combined.

She flicked her wrist and bolts of fire shot from her spinning torrent, impacting the warriors around her. They screamed. She laughed.

“Well, come on!” she shouted. “Let's see if any of you are strong enough for Tarsa!”

Reasoning:

Tarsa clearly the best choice if you decide to go with phys team for super sneak.

Lore:

“Teddy bear” is often a term used to describe Tusk the Wide. Even as a child, he was larger than the others. Growing up in the rugged landscape of the Timbersea, he has always felt at home in nature.

His parents used to say he was “born with fire in his soul”. That was true in more ways than one. Tusk's strong spirit is unbowed and unbroken, ready to tackle any challenge head-on. But the day he was born a fire spread across the village. His parents fled to safety within the wilderness, surviving when so many others perished. Now an enormous and burly man of broad shoulders and massive girth, Tusk feels an affinity to fire. Because it spared his life that night, he intends to make each day count. As he charges into battle, he can feel it burning in his veins. And he uses that energy to claim victory. When spells are hurled at him, they fizzle out in his proximity, the blazing energy inside of him burning them away.

Preferring to wander between the smaller villages in Khymeria, he is a nomad who lives off the land. One look at his warm and sincere smile shows he has a kind soul. He is beloved in any town he visits. He cares for others, entertains village children, brings supplies from the woodlands, and takes care of any monsters that threaten the weak.

*It was in one such village that Tusk the Wide heard about the threat the Chaos Legion poses. Disturbed by the stories he heard, Tusk sharpened his axe, loaded up on supplies, and took to hunting down the agents of the Chaos Legion. *

With another great sweep of his axe, the head of a Chaos Legion monstrosity flew through the air. Tusk rested his axe on his shoulder and continued forward. A line of corpses was left behind him, each felled by a single stroke.

He turned to the small hut where the villagers had hidden during the attack. He could see their shapes in the darkness, peering out from cracks in the windows.

“You are safe now,” he stated. “You may come out.”

The door creaked open, and one by one each nervous villager stepped out. The attack had happened suddenly, without warning. But woe to the agents of the Chaos Legion, for Tusk the Wide was staying in that very village overnight.

“Thank you so much!” one villager called to him. A father grasping a baby in his arms.

Tusk the Wide smiled. His work was never done, but he would not turn down those in need.

Reasoning:

Since most people either go with magic damage or with "sneak" in super sneak. He is the perfect tank vs 1 frontline attacker or all the magic spam.

Lore:

The crazed tinker, Morloth, created the Disintegrator within his lair in the Badlands. Assembling various parts of other creatures together, he spent an age designing and building his masterpiece. The only problem was bringing it to life. He tried taking the fierce lightning from the sky and filling the monstrous body with raw energy but that didn’t work and only damaged its limbs. He experimented with molten power from within the ground but that only burnt away its flesh and hide. It wasn’t until he had a visit from a cloaked agent of chaos and was gifted the answer to his problems that the engine burst into life.

The pair spoke for days and deals were made, adjusted, broken and presented again. Morloth grew frustrated with how long it was taking, all he wanted was to have more of the sickly, green crystals that the agent had placed within the heart of his creature, bringing it to life. Whether he eventually tired of the bartering and was worn down, or the taint of chaos itself had afflicted him, Morloth agreed to the terms laid out by his visitor. With a large sack of the chaos fuel and the promise of an endless supply in the future, all he had to do was keep his side of the bargain – persecute and destroy the people of Praetoria. He quickly produced more of the misshapen beasts and now, with his pets in tow, he terrorised Praetoria and all its inhabitants.

*With the torso of a mountain gorilla, the hind quarters of a crocodile and the mouth of a leach, the Disintegrator is a mismatch of devastating qualities. Its strength is formidable, twisted strands of metal combined with great sinews of muscle. When the heavy forearms and tail strike its foe, it will pummel them into submission without mercy. If that fails to work then the monster’s evil jaws will latch onto its prey, numerous splayed fangs locking onto their body as it sucks the life from them. The obscene golem strikes terror into its foes wherever it goes and it has been known to continue to fight even after the yellow glow of life has left it eyes. *

The mountain village of Squall’s End was quiet as night fell. Nestled in the foothills of two peaks, it guarded the pass and was a refuge for the many travellers that came through that way bringing trade inland from Northern Bay. Lights from the houses twinkled in the darkness, and thin strands of smoke spiralled into the night sky from fires burning within the many hearths. The call of a young shepherd broke the silence, herding his small flock of sheep back into their pen where they’d be safe from wild animals. It was a picture of perfect serenity, of a happy community at peace with the world. It was the perfect place for Morloth to release his new creation and test how effective it truly was.

The beast grumbled beside him, the heart of its engine humming gently, chugging puffs of green smoke from an exhaust cylinder. Morloth reached across and turned the dial up, causing the engine to bark and the beast to shudder, its eyes glowing with intense, unprocessed energy.

“There is the town, my child. That is why we have come here. Destroy them! Stampede through their homes, and drink their blood until your appetite is sated, my beautiful Disintegrator.”

The monster turned to look at him for a moment and then it was gone. Charging towards the village and bellowing its rage until the angry roars echoed back from the very mountains themselves.

Reasoning:

Furthest away from the sneak backline is the optimal position for me, and if the enemy brings magic/ranged him dying early isn't a problem either.

Lore:

There are some places in the Burning Lands where rats are especially easy to find, so the discovery of Exploding Rats has been beneficial to the Torch in several ways. In most cases, the strange but simple combustion spell is only used for extermination purposes in the caves and around the city of Azad. Combustion works better on some species than others. When used on humans for example, the same spell only catches their hair on fire, which is easy enough to put out. For some unknown reason, rats explode with enough force to take down a brick wall. Because of the intensity with which they explode, rats are also weaponized in several interesting ways.

Reasoning:

Rats are amazing in super sneak high speed plus double damage due to blast.

Lore:

The spreading blight on the continent of Praetoria twisted both the land and its people. Those nearest the poisonous gases and infernal heat of Mount Praetorous were corrupted and twisted. Their skin was singed, cracked, and lined with burn marks that never healed. They were left in a constant state of agony that slowly drove them mad. The corruption also granted them the ability to manipulate flames, and the Radiated Scorcher can use them to instantly destroy their opponents' armor.

The three hunters stalked toward Mount Praetorous in search of their prey.

The job board in Zul'kar Flare said it was a fire elemental, birthed from the flames of the volcano and wreathed in a whirlwind of magma. The price on its head was enough to put food on their table for a week.

Movement on the rocky slope ahead of them, and the hunters stopped. The thing before them was no simple manifestation of living flame. It was a man skinned of fire.

“It burns!” he screamed. “Oh, gods, it burns! I'm burning!” Then he threw his head back and laughed.

The three hunters exchanged a look, then they turned and fled back toward Zul'kar Flare.

The next day, on the town's job board, the constable posted a new notice: a bounty for a Radiated Scorcher. The price had tripled.

Reasoning:

Scorcher is a decent Filler and can do a bit of damage

Lore:

Not all lava is alive; most of the time, it responds to gravity as expected. But the stuff that comes from the very core of the Molten Mountains... There's just something special about it.

Reasoning:

Living Lava is the perfect sneak protector with shield and even if the opponent doesn't have phys to attack the backline his 3-4 damage till the last turn is pretty good.

Into the battle:

Battle Link

Round 1:

Commentary

My opponent speculated wrong, with a pure magic mirror setup, his chances are low. I like the versability of my lineup alot more. I can beat almost all lineup except for like a mylor. His only hope is that Peryton and Mustang go into beast evade mode. His failed summoner Goblin Psychic combo helps me too. Mustang attacking my backline is really bad for him. In addition I'm guranteed a hit on his Peryton due to the Rats blast onto the chicken.

Round 2:

image.png

Commentary

As expected Peryton evading like crazy, but I only need one more hit on him. Unfortunatelly for him Tusk has 2 more rounds in him. If Peryton evades for 2 more rounds he probably wins it, but the odds are low my hit chances per round are 0.65+(0.35x0.45)+(0.35x0.55x0.35)+(0.35x0.55x0.65x0.35) = 91.87% to hit him over 2 rounds is 99.33%.

Round 3:

Commentary

Well killed Peryton his round, so we only have to clean up the field to scoop up the victory.

Final thoughts:

My strategy worked amazingly, don't see any reason to change the lineup, unless my oppent has mylor, In that case I'm probably screwed, with the available splinters at least. I like Disintegrator in specific rulesets like melee only or super sneak. Without those rulesets I'm not a huge fan.
