The purpose of this series of posts is to record my investment in Riftwatchers and ultimately determine if it was worth it or not.
- Due to the decision of the Splinterlands team to change the ranked reward system from DEC to SPS, I decided to participate in the Riftwatchers pre-sale in order to preserve the value of my SPS.
- I wanted to convert my SPS and Voucher holdings into Riftwatcher packs as I believe that Vouchers and SPS will start slowly declining in value
- On the 16th of September 2022, when the Riftwatchers pre-sale went live, I decided to buy 50 Riftwatchers packs with all of the SPS I earned from the airdrop and all the vouchers I received from my staked SPS. In total, I spent 2,993.327 SPS + 50 Vouchers.
- I only had 25 vouchers before the pre-sale went live so I decided to sell all of the excess SPS I wouldn't need for the purchase in order to buy the additional 25 vouchers on Tribaldex. The average cost of one voucher was $0.64 when I made the purchase.
- In total, I spent $282 and received 50 Riftwatchers packs which averages out to $5.64/per pack.

Two months after the Riftwatchers pre-sale went live, there have been 872,571 packs sold and 1 card airdropped. Unfortunately, there have been no new cards airdropped since my last update.

While Splinterlands does have a referral program in place, it only benefits the referrer and not the referee. Therefore, it is up to us (the existing players) to create our own referral program to help new players enter into the game. Here is how mine works:
- Sign up for Splinterlands through my referral link here.
- Once you buy the Summoner's Spellbook, I will receive 500 credits ($0.50) which I will use to buy DEC, cards, or both to help you start your Splinterlands journey.
- All you need to do is comment below the IGN you used to sign up with. Once I have verified it, I will reach out to see what you would like to spend your $0.50 on and then send it over.
