Hello, everyone. KonAqua-desu! This is my 3rd attempt on joining Splinterland's Share Your Battle Challenge, where, as the title suggests, share your experiences and insights in one of your battles. Enjoy!

Introduction

It was just another day. I was doing some casuals grinding the daily quest while admiring this somewhat new match screen:

Then after my last win, I unlocked my daily quest chest and this magnificent card popped off.

I am not fond of dragon cards because the free dragon summoner is not that good. I decided to rent out Quix the Devious and try it out.

Also, Naga Assassin has a gold version:

Lore

The most important unspoken agreements among the doers of shady deeds throughout Draykh-Nahka are “stay on your own territory,” and “call a Naga Assassin for your dirty work.” Naga come in many different varieties, sizes and cultures depending on where they live. No matter how well they fit into cities and societies, naga always have a certain ruthless edge left over from the recent wild roots of their people. The desert naga of Draykh-Nahka are especially strong and skilled at killing.
Naga Assassins are so quick and deadly at their work that there is rarely a need for a fight. They simply slither in unnoticed, plunging a quiet knife into the most vulnerable place on their victim.

Card lore can be found on the Splinterlands Website.

Monster Stats and Skills

Even though the damage is weak, the 5 speed assures you that Naga Assassin can throw damage before he dies. It's a good 2 mana cost card because normally these kind of cards are just meat shields that dies without being able to do anything.

Naga Assassin gets two abilities that unlocks at Level 4 and Level 8.

Phase unlocks at Level 4 allowing magic attack to miss. Same calculations are used like Melee and Ranged attacks.

Switness unlocks at max level. At Level 8, with Swiftness, all friendly monsters gain +1 speed. This complements Phase as the higher your monster's speed is, the higher the chance he hits and higher the opponent's chance to miss.

Mana and Rule Sets

Standard gameplay with 16 max mana limit. No limits on elements that you can use as well. I think this is the normal setting for Bronze 3.

Rule SetDescriptionComment
StandardStandard gameplay, rules and mechanics without any changes.

Team Lineup

Team Composition Description
  • Summoner: Quix the Devious: Provides -1 range damage and -1 speed.
  1. Living Lava: Provides decent tanking ability via Shield
  2. Serpentine Spy: Strong 3 mana card
  3. Naga Assassin: My reward card that I wanted to try. Not affected by Thorns ability due to being a range damage user. High speed for 2 mana.

Round 1

  • Life Sapper dies from Serpentine Spy

Round 2

  • Cursed Windeku's damage and Thorns still getting halved via Lava Golem's Shield
  • Cursed Windeku goes to 4 health; Tower Griffin goes to 1 health.

Round 3

  • Lava Golem and Naga Assassin kills Cursed Windeku
  • Serpentine Spy kills Tower Griffin

Author's Notes

If you like using Dragons, grabbing Naga Assassin is good to fill those 2 remaining mana. It also complements if you're using a range dragon composition with Selena Sky as your summoner as you can get a free 2 damage with only 2 mana cost instead of adding two 1 mana costs monsters that die without doing anything.
