Splinterlands Blast From The Past Reward Card Giveaway #57

Splinterlands Card Giveaway

Each week I host a giveaway for one of the original Reward Edition Splinterlands cards. Most of these cards have been out-of-print for almost two years, so new players can only get them in the market, and that can be pretty expensive. These giveaways are a way to help players build their deck for free.

As an added bonus, everyone who enters the giveaway receives a little upvote from me on their entry. So even if you don't win the prize, you will still get enough Hive to buy a Splinterlands card or two from the market. Limit one entry per person.

Last week's prize was this Silvershield Archers card.

Now that the post has reached the end of the seven day point of payout it's time to spin the wheel of names and find out who the lucky winner is...

This Week's Giveaway

This week's Blast From The Past Giveaway is the original Splinterlands terror of the deep, the Sea Monster!

Sea Monster_lv1.png

Before The Kraken or Baakjira or any of the other leviathans that swim the depths of the Splinterlands oceans were released as cards there was the Sea Monster. Feared by many and coveted by all. Back in the early days of Splinterlands every deck had a Sea Monster card leveled up to as high a level as your Water Splinter Summoner could handle. With plenty of Health, Heal ability at level 1 and Thorns at level 6, it was a great tank.

The only drawback was its 8 mana points cost. You may laugh at the idea that 8 mana was a lot back in the "old" days, but this was long before high Mana battles were a thing and you had to build a team with less than 30 mana. Once high Mana battles were released, the Sea Monster became even more popular as a Water Splinter tank.

Currently, the cheapest Sea Monster on the Splinterlands Marketplace is $1.80 for a level 1 card. That's a very good price for a card that was given away for free just a couple years ago.

How To Enter The Giveaway

For a chance to add this Sea Monster to your Splinterlands deck, just leave a comment. Be sure to add your Splinterlands account name if it's different than your entry name. Only 1 entry per person. The contest will end at the 7 day point of payout for this post, when I will use the WHEEL OF NAMES to choose the winner.

Good Luck!
