This week's share your battle challenge involves using a card from the life splinter.
He carries a spear and is thus able to reach your rival's defenses.
Let's jump right into it!
Theme: Silvershield Warrior
The Silvershield Warrior is a common card from the Beta edition.
It is the go-to card for someone trying to use the reach ability with the life Splinter from the Beta edition
It fares better than the alternative: the Grumpy Dwarf because of its higher defensive stats
You can get it currently for 0.027 $.
This price is reasonable. The arrival of the untamed series has seen its relevance decline in the metagame.
It is specifically the Luminous Eagle the main reasons for its decline in usefulness mostly because
The mana difference isn't that big
The eagle starts with better offensive stats. At level 2 the eagle's attack is three times higher
The Flying ability: Great for earthquake and for dodging
Better speed: Increases dodging
This more than compensates having to spend 2 more in mana
Where to use
Regardless of the competition the Warrior can still be a great card.
Its mana cost is low and it is one of the best cards with the reach ability from the Beta series and overall when it comes to low mana requirements.
This is why it should be used on the following conditions:
- Little League
- Matches with a low mana cap
The Battle
This Battle involves the equalizer and Weak Magic ruleset
This Battle involved the Silvershield Warrior against its untamed counterpart: The Luminous Eagle.
For this Battle I got the Warrior to level 4. I forgot to combine the cards though
The setup was weak magic with equalizer, which can do wonders for the silvershield warrior, as its low hitpoints get a boost and its shield becomes more useful.
I packed all of my big guns behind. Luckily for me my rival didn't have any cards with the sneak ability, otherwise I wouldn't have won.
My Lineup
- Silvershield Knight, the inspire ability is extremely helpful as I was relying only on Melee. On first place due to low Mana Cap
- Silvershield Warrior: The man of the week. Could've been at fourth though
- Divine Healer: Great for Healing the cards upfront, best placed in the middle
- Armorsmith: Due to using the life Splinter and weak Magic the Armorsmith comes in handy as well
- Cave Slug: One of the best cards with the Opportunity ability. Great offensive power. Because of the lineup of my rival it was pretty much doing sneak attacks
- Silvershield Assassin: Overall a must have for a battle like this one.
My Assassin ended up doing most of the job as he basically took down all but the card at the front. This wouldn't have been possible with the defensive help from the guys at front
My Silvershield Warrior was taken down by the Eagle. He might have lost the Battle but he won the war
Other Battles
In this Battle I got trashed with a Silvershield Warrior.
Here you can see how the Silvershield Warrior can be effectively used in the Little League setup. My Rival did have better cards than I did, however his combinations was smarter than mine.
His Warrior became basically a Silvershield Wall with a Spear and I wasn't able to overcome it.
Improvement
In order to increase the usage of the Warrior I would suggest adding a second ability at higher levels. There are other cards with reach and low mana requirements that obtain more abilities as they level up like the Grumpy Dwarf
I think the Bind ability would be a great addition to the Warrior
See you in the Battlefield!
