On the way to the Holy cave(Sacro Speco) of Subiaco, I met a sculpture thought to be a statue of Saint Benedict. Villager when they pass by might stop and pray for a while.
When entering a traditional Korean village, there is a statue of a guardian deity that you can meet. In modernized Korea, this kind of culture has disappeared. Perhaps at the entrance of a church or temple might you find a sculpture that serves this role.
