1994-12-03 - Saturday - He wrote, played, & sung, the famous Hanukah Song on Saturday Night Live (SNL) which is very funny and I was nine years old then and have loved it ever since. It is awesome like his Thanksgiving song.

09. Will Ferrell Elf
2003 - This is the Christmas version of Tarzan or the Jungle Book except with elves instead of wolves. Both words, elves and wolves, ends with "LVES." It is kind of like Jungle 2 Jungle starring Tim Allen and a boy from the jungles. The boy, like Will Ferrell, moves into a big city for the first time like a black sheep and doesn't know what to do. Kind of funny but it reminds us of what we lost in the big cities. It reminds us to go back to the gardens, the fountains of youth, the source of life, the woods, the forests, the farms, the heart of it all.

08. The Phantom of the Opera
1909 - The real Nutcracker lived in a basement of a big theater building like a liberal living off welfare. The Phantom was embarrassed of his face for a while like Ben Skywalker might have been in Star Wars. The Phantom is like a reboot of the Beauty of the Beast mixed with elements of Romeo & Juliet. The Nutcracker was written in 1816 and like the story of that frog and the beast, the nutcracker came alive with love's true kiss like as it did with Sleepy Beauty and Snow White came back with the kiss from the princes.

07. Scrooge McDuck
1947 - This duck was created by Carl Barks. Almost a century earlier, Ebenezer Scrooge was created by Charles Dickens in 1843 for A Christmas Carol. It reminds me of that film called Time Changer where a guy travels from the 1800's into the early 2000's and finds out that subjectivity destroys morality, humanity. It reminds me of It's A Wonderful Lie of David Knight, I mean, Life. Great stories about redemption. Scrooge is not the Prodigal Son. Scrooge is the Prodigal Grandpa.

1994 - In the Tim Allen The Santa Clause film, there was Judy the Elf, who Bill Bailey's dad said looked like Tiffany Cumbo, and Judy was played by Paige Tamada. So, Judy took 1,200 years to perfect her perfect hot cocoa, not too hot. Also, shaken not stir, a James Bond reference. She was beautiful and yet beyond that, more importantly, she was wise, patient, and very caring. That is the kind of person I inspire to be more like. Judy reminds me of Pippi Peterson.
05. Rudolf The Red Nose Reindeer
1939 - I remember not fitting when I entered public school for the first time in 2000. It was tough. I felt like that reindeer. Have people made fun of you for your red nose? People made of my four eyes, my glasses. What about you? Here is the 1964 TV movie special on the story of that reindeer. Rudolf even meets a female reindeer, Clarice, in this movie.

270 A.D. - Saint Nick, The Wonder Worker, of Myra, Turkey, of Bari, was the Catholic, not Christian, patron saint of sailors, merchants, archers, repentant thieves (former inmates of prison reform), brewers, pawnbrokers, city students, of the free market system. He was like an ancient version of Bernie Sanders, of Robin Hood. He was all about the Obama Redistribution of wealth, of sharing wealth through communism, socialism, progressive welfare, tyranny. The Santa Claus image, American version of Nick, came in the 1800's. On one hand, Santa is an anagram of Satan. Christmas was rooted in paganism. On the other hand, we can use the holiday as an opportunity to teach people all about grace, giving, sharing, helping, Thanksgiving Generosity, etc.

3 B.C. - Jesus was born around that time. He was probably born around September and not December. The Catholics forced many people to worship Jesus on Christmas which had another name before that as a pagan holiday. So, if you want to believe in Jesus as your Savior, then you may want a holiday to celebrate His birthday as well. But you don't have to be religious to believe in the golden rule of treating others as you would want to be treated yourself which was promoted in the Bible.
