Wearable devices and future

Smart watches and fitness bands hold a powerful position within the wearable devices market. Worldwide, the wearables market is predicted to double by 2021. Most of the market share in India is gained by Xiaomi then follows Titan, Samsung, and Fossil in terms of market share. The wearable device market will be classified into basic wearables and sensible wearables (smart wearable). Today, majority of the wearable devices are within the type of a watch or a band.

While early models could perform basic tasks, such as calculations, digital time, translations, and game-playing, 2010s smart watches have more general functionality closer to smartphones, including mobile apps, a mobile operating system and WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity. Some smart watches function as portable media players, with FM radio and playback of digital audio and video files via a Bluetooth headset. Some models, called 'watch phones' have mobile cellular functionality like making calls.

If you want to offer a gift to somebody, perhaps for an anniversary, an important birthday, then to engrave it with a special personal message, if you offer a mechanical watch then you’re giving something which will last probably for generations.
