T - minus 6 months until the...
That's right, the first ever ssg/sgs meet-up and it's happening in Las Vegas, Nevada the weekend of March 4th, 2022.
I am quite excited for this and have many ideas floating around my grey matter so let me try and get them out in an organized fashion as I would love for as many folks as possible to be there.
1. The Idea
A bunch of us have been paling around on the steem/hive blockchain (and discord) for a few years now and while some of us have met each other in our little parts of the world I think it would be fab to get as many of us together in one place as possible.
The last year and a half have not been easy for most folks and by the looks of it covid is going to continue to play a part in everyday life but I am still moving forward with these plans at the moment and I fully expect to be in Vegas in March :D

Excuses, Excuses...
When I was trying to pick a date I ran into this coin show ☝️ and thought that would make a great excuse (if you need one) to visit Las Vegas.
The show is being held at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino which is just off the strip on the north side of town. It's just above the Las Vegas sign on the top of this map...
The coin show is just a part of the things we can do. I see a big dinner one night with the lot of us and after that the choices are endless. As we get closer and more folks confirm we will hash out the details.
The Costs: Hotels and Airfare
Vegas.com is the best spot I have found to book rooms. Here is a search of available rooms for the weekend of March 4th, 2022
So let's call it about $100/night for hotel room.

I am there. I already have the time off work and a hotel reservation at the MGM Grand and I will be in Vegas that weekend. I did look into a group rate for booking multiple rooms but the discount only kicks in with 10 or more rooms at most of the major hotels. My reservation is fully refundable so if enough folks are interested we can go the group rate route. I guess we will just see how the planning goes.
I also just set up a new Discord server for folks that are going so we can make plans for the weekend.

Well, at the moment I believe there are three of us that are better than 90% sure to be there (if I'm wrong let me know). Me, @silverd510 & @thedamus. There were a few others that popped into the original post with some interest like @silversaver888, @scooter77 & @welshstacker. I believe @brian.rrr is also seriously considering it and I know there are a couple of folks that love to travel like @dfinney & @fat-elvis which brings us to 9 people tentatively. I bet @vgholdingsllc is even allowed back in Vegas by now XD
