Paying homage to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra the Austrian Philharminic coin was designed by Thomas Pesendorfer and the coin's first release was in 2008. Every year since, it has been collected by many stackers around the World much like the American silver eagle and the British britannia.

The obverse side features a proof like finish with the great pipe organ that is inside of Musikverein, home of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The inscription around the top reads REPUBLIK OSTERREICH and on the bottome reads 1 UNZE FEIDSILBER, 2023 and 1,50 EURO.

The Reverse side features a group of instruments including a French horn, bassoon, harp, 4 violins and a cello honoring the ochestra theme. The inscription around the top reads WIENER PHILHARMONIKER and SILBER.
