Hi Pirates and silver lovers,
Havings spent the last three days in lovely Zeeland (Zealand) one cannot disregard the struggle of the island in the past. Some of the most famous marine commanders of the golden age, some pirates and a lot of VoC merchants originated from sea battered Zeeland.

Born 1607 in Vlissingen and died in the Bay of Syracuse 1676 (how heroic!!!)
When you look at maps of Zeeland of the past you can imagine how hard to struggle against the North sea must have been.
In the bottom center you can still see Antwerpen of Belgium. Nowadays the Delta werks protect the land aganst the high tide but only in 1953 some 2000 lost their lives in a february storm and whole islands disappeared under water.
The coin I have to emphasize this struggle is the Liondollar 2018 official restrike based on the silver leeuwendaalder of 1597:
